Community Priority Election: Now Open for Early Election

14 June 2013

At the request of New gTLD applicants, ICANN is offering a means to indicate their intent to elect for Community Priority Evaluation (CPE) prior to the launch of CPE operations. Starting today, applicants that have applied as a community and are in string contention may signal their intention to pursue CPE. These applicants will be messaged directly through the Customer Service Portal to provide them with instructions to opt for CPE early election.

This early election will not have any bearing on the timing or start date of the Community Priority Evaluation processes, nor is it intended to contradict the Applicant Guidebook in any way. Early election is not a guarantee of eligibility to proceed with CPE.

For applicants that are uninterested or ineligible, no action is required.
